AIBI, in partnership with Penguin Random House, Cloth + Home, Chicago Fair Trade’s Conscious Closet Club, Chicago Fashion Incubator, and Columbia College Chicago, will host an Ethical Fashion Panel Discussion featuring Sofi Thanhauser, the author of Worn. This event will take place at the Columbia College Chicago campus from 6 pm to 8 pm and is open to the public.
The panel will explore the intersection of fashion, sustainability, and ethics, and how consumers can make a difference by choosing to support ethical fashion brands. A pre-panel reception will include mocktails and lite bites. Books will be available for sale by Semicolon Bookstore. The panel will be moderated by Anna Hovet Diaz, Executive Director of the Chicago Fashion Incubator and also feature other experts in the field of ethical fashion, including designers and educators. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about ethical fashion practices and how they can incorporate them into their daily lives.
Sofi Thanhauser is an experienced writer and activist, known for her work on ethical fashion and sustainability. Her book, Worn, explores the environmental and social impacts of the fast fashion industry and offers insights into how we can make more sustainable and ethical choices.
The Ethical Fashion Panel Discussion is open to the public and free to current Columbia students, but registration is required.
