Discussion:

This incredibly talented panel will discuss how to build a brand, including the use of both traditional and social media and the rise of influencers. Audience members will have the opportunity to ask questions and get both the legal and creative perspectives from experts at the forefront of their fields.

These include Azeeza Khan, creator of Azeeza, one of the largest Chicago-based international fashion brands, Amy Joseph, a fashion content creator who has worked with internationally recognized brands, and Daliah Saper, a fashion lawyer who advises clients on these types of issues every day.

The panel will be moderated by Maggie Gillette, a principal at The Curio who herself is a former designer (The Giving Bride) and creator of Lingerie Select, an intimates trade show in New York City.


Reception (7-9pm):

A fun-filled reception will follow the discussion in a designated area of The Emily Hotel’s main restaurant on the ground floor called FORA. There guests can engage with one another and the panelists about the prior discussion, as well as meeting and connecting with other members of the Chicago fashion & beauty industry.

There will be complimentary white & red wine, margaritas, and hors d’oeuvres provided courtesy of The Emily Hotel and FORA restaurant.

THE PANELISTS

Azeeza Khan:

Designer / Creative Director of Azeeza which was founded on the tenet of empowering confidence and the desire to make women look, and ultimately feel, their best. Amy Joseph:

Popularly known online as Amy Diala, the mid-twenties Chicago native is making a name for herself in the high end fashion, beauty, and lifestyle spaces. After graduating from college with a major in marketing, Amy put this knowledge to use in starting a career in social media, gaining a combined following of over 200,000+ in just over a year. This has led her to partnerships with brands such as YSL Beauty, Coach, Rebecca Minkoff, Calzedonia, Alice and Olivia, Armani Beauty, and Too Faced, to name a few. Her main goal when working with brands is to creatively and organically convert her followers into consumers for the brands that she is partnering with. Check her out on IG or Tik Tok.

Daliah Saper:

Daliah Saper is a member of the Illinois Bar and both the General Bar and Trial Bar of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. She has handled many high profile cases include those before the Illinois Supreme Court) and is regularly interviewed on national tv, radio, and in several publications including Fox News, CNBC, ABC News, The Chicago Tribune, WGN Radio, and NPR. Of many achieveents, Daliah was named to Crain’s Chicago‘s 2017 list “60 Most Influential Women Lawyers”which highlighted her “cutting-edge” internet and social media practice and Law Bulletin Publishing Company’s 2012 list “40 Attorneys Under 40.” Daliah is an Adjunct Professor at Loyola University Chicago School of Law, teaching Sports and Entertainment Law. Maggie Gillette (Moderator):

Maggie Gillette is a fashion industry professional and freelance writer. After a successful career in fashion and events in New York, Maggie has returned to Chicago, becoming a Principal at The Curio. When she’s not working, Maggie loves exploring with her toddler, cooking for her family, and curling up with a good book at the end of the day. You can find her on IG: @themaggiegillette.

The Curio:

Is an organization that launched in the Spring of 2022 that seeks to unite the Chicago fashion community and to elevate its reputation here in Chicago, as well as regionally and nationally by showcasing many of the top fashion talent that reside in this great city. Since last April, it has produced 3 fashion presentations, multiple fashion socials and other industry events including a collaboration with 10 MGMT on a content creator panel and reception. It has worked with and showcased fashion talent including Cynthia Rowley, Nigel Barker, Maria Pinto, as well as 17 other Chicago-based fashion designers. It also hosts Fashion Summits to bring the fashion organizational leadership together as well as publishing a Chicago Fashion Calendar to provide fashion enthusiasts a one-stop location to find out what is happening in Chicago fashion.

The Emily Hotel:

The Emily opened in Chicago the summer of 2022. It is a boutique hotel concept inspired by art and rooted in nature. Our name, a nod to renowned 19th century artist, Emily Carr, who inspired the belief that art can change the way we look at the world. The Lynn Sage Breast Cancer Foundation is one of the nation’s leading breast cancer research and education charities joining together Lynn Sage Cancer Research Foundation and Lynn Sage Foundation.

Since 1985, combined these organizations have raised over $40 Million for Breast Cancer Research and education advancements. Together, we can do more.

Today, 75 passionate supporters on our board work to fulfill our mission: funding research and education to prevent breast cancer and improve outcomes for individuals with breast cancer. Investments are directed locally in Chicago, but drive impact globally.

Since the beginning, when Lynn’s dear friends and family established a foundation with a vow to cure this devastating disease, until now, we are dedicated to ending breast cancer. Ceta Walters served on the foundation’s board of directors.
